  Frequently Asked Questions

Can you describe the poster?

The poster is 36” x 24” in a landscape format. It is produced on a heavy weight paper in full color. The actual image is a reproduction of a Rick Rush original painting that depicts Alabama’s 36-0 victory over Auburn in the 2008 SEC Western Division Championship.

How have you determined the value of the poster?

The artist’s own web-site offers the same poster for sale at $40.00. Incidentally, a limited edition serigraph of the same image is listed for $800.00.

What is a “certificate of authenticity”?

The certificate of authenticity verifies that Rick Rush himself has been involved in overseeing the reproduction process. The certificate is your assurance that Rick has approved the quality of the poster.

Why is a Rick Rush rendering valuable?

Rick has a voluminous body of work. He is acknowledged as “America’s Sports Artist” and he has been invited to the White House by two presidents. Rick has painted sports scenes all across the country; from Little League competition to the Kentucky Derby.

Why do you say that this book is “collectible”?

The author, Caleb Pirtle III, and the artist, Rick Rush had a collaborative relationship that dates back for over thirty years. They chose to work together on this project to research many of the great moments in the history of the most well-known college football program in the country.

Why should I consider the Limited Edition version?

We think that, by definition, the first printing is definitely collectible. However, for a discerning few (there are only going to be 500 copies ever produced) the limited edition is especially valuable. This edition will contain a numbered frontispiece that is signed by the artist himself and will be bound in gold foil stamped leather. While we cannot, of course, predict that the book will increase in value, both the first edition collectible version and the limited edition have that potential. The fact is that art books have had an historical tendency to do just that.

How is this book different from other books published on Alabama football?

Our’s is the ONLY art book that has ever been produced with a focus on Alabama’s rich football program.  The book is packed with 42 Rick Rush original renderings, most of which have never been seen before.  Moreover, “The ‘A’ Game: Great Moments in the history of Alabama Football” has been thoroughly researched and is certain to provide the reader with historical notes and perspective. Even the most ardent ‘Bama fan will, we are sure, learn something new.

What is the involvement of the National Alumni Association of the University of Alabama?

The Alumni Association will earn a royalty that will be paid to the scholarship fund for every book that is sold?

Why do you describe this as a “coffee table” book?

The book is oversized. It is 10-5/8” x 14”, upright, hard-bound and printed on a heavy weight paper. The expression “coffee table” generally connotes a book that you may proudly leave prominently displayed on a coffee table or credenza in your home or office.

Why do I need to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery of the book?

This is a book that is marking the Crimson Tide’s return to power. The manifestation of that is the era being ushered in by Coach Nick Saban. It was important to be sure that this new era received appropriate attention in “The A Game: Great Moments in the History of Alabama Football”. Rendering contemporary art is laborious and time consuming and Rick has been at work until the start of the Alabama 2009 football season.

Where can I see other Rick Rush work?
