THE A GAME: GREAT MOMENTS IN THE HISTORY OF ALABAMA FOOTBALL
|

“The A Game” is an oversize coffee table art book that relives great moments in Alabama football history and showcases the original artwork of Rick Rush, known as America’s Sports Artist. The paintings, sketches, and images were all created exclusively to work harmoniously with individual stories and vignettes that trace those memorable moments from the dawn of Alabama football in 1892 to the Southeast Conference Championship season of Nick Saban in 2008.

Along the way, “The A Game’ follows in the footsteps of such legendary Alabama coaches as Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Paul “Bear” Bryant, and Gene Stallings, while also remembering great games, great plays, and great players during the coaching regimes of Ears Whitworth, Red Drew, Ray Perkins, Bill Curry, Mike Dubose, and Mike Shula.

“The A Game” is an action-packed and sometimes poignant reflection on the days and exploits of so many unforgettable players who wore Crimson. Each era has its place in the book because those single moments so often became the turning point for a game, for a season, and sometimes for a career. Together, they are the backbone of Alabama football history.

“The A Game” is the fifty-second book written by Caleb Pirtle III. His last was “No Experience Required: Jackie Sherrill and the 12th Man Kickoff Team at Texas A&M.” |
